Menu Icons

Does anyone know if it is possible to display an icon next to a menu item that calls a submenu? There doesn't appear to be any way to achieve this in version 1.9

Just to confuse the issue, OB says I'm running version 1.90 (Build 537u) (beta version), whilst SD says I have version 2.10f[b].011.
